About Us
Hoskote Mission is one of the main mission fields of the Marthoma Evangelistic Association (MTEA) and is situated 25 km from Bangalore away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Under the leadership of Rev. M G. Chandy, (Late Dr. Alexander Marthoma Valiya Metropolitan) Hoskote Mission was initially established in a modest manner in 1947 with the fervent support of the Marthoma community in Bangalore. Mr. A.C. Zachariah (later Rev. A. C. Zachariah) and Mr. MT Joseph were the first missionaries. The Mission work, which began discreetly in Hoskote Village, has grown to include hundreds more villages in its ministry. The Hospital
ministry which started in 1965 as a small room has grown to 100 bedded Hospital. A Destitute Home or the Shanti Mandiram was started in 1980 to accommodate the homeless and helpless members of the society. The Bible Institute began in 1991 to train and equip evangelists.
Hoskote Mission Institute of Nursing HMIN:
HMIN is situated on the campus of the Hoskote Mission & Medical Centre, which comprises nine acres.
The Institute began to function from November 1996 with the Diploma Nursing (GNM programme) which was later
upgraded to the Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme in 2010. The M. Sc (N) programme commenced from the academic year 2015.
HMIN is a Mission Institution, intending to provide the best nursing education based on scientific principles and prepare professionally competent, and ethically sound nurses to serve the community with compassion & love. The Management and the staff of HMIN believe that we have the responsibility for the holistic development of the students with special emphasis on spiritual, intellectual, social, psychological & cultural dimensions to provide care with respect, dignity & advocate for the rights of individuals & groups.
