In this era the importance of mental health pre-dominates every other discipline. The department of mental health nursing aims to mould the students to meet the challenges lying ahead. Mental health can be seen as a dynamic interplay between the nurse and the patient.

The department is keen in enabling students to achieve skillful application of the concept of behavior, personality, psychopathology and most importantly the process of interpersonal relationship.

Area of Interest: Teaching is something I love and cherish. Teaching is really rewarding and it is satisfying to see children progress both academically and as fully accomplished citizens. The biological basis of behavior is an important field of study in psychology that explores the ways in which biological factors impact behavior. This includes investigating the roles that genetics, hormones, and the nervous system play in shaping an individual's behavior and I as a psychiatry and Psychology teacher am very keen to investigate the ways biology impacts behavior.

Highlights: The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing provides courses related to adult health nursing as well as advanced nursing practice for undergraduate nursing students. The department helps the students to develop knowledge, skills and clinical competence in health care settings. It collaborates with Hoskote Mission Medical Center, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Sciences for clinical competency The Medical Surgical Nursing Department has conducted various activities as a part of curricular & co-curricular requirements.

Area of Interest: The aspects of cardiology in medical surgical nursing has piques me since novice period, the disease process & treatments especially the surgical aspects has always enthralled me.

Community health Nursing also develops a strong understanding of people’s backgrounds, experiences, and the social factors that influence health, with the goal of practicing cultural humility with empathetic care.

Community health nursing course is designed with theory and practical hours to help students develop broad perspectives of health its determinants above community health nursing of understanding about the health care delivery services, health care policies, regulations in India. Community health nursing department plays a crucial role in promoting and safeguarding the health populations with in a community.
